5 – Bandwidth Warning

Bandwidth Theft IS Wrong!

This area is currently under construction, but will eventually include links and commentary on sites I’ve caught stealing bandwidth from my server. For those of you who don’t know what this means, bandwidth theft is when someone “hotlinks” to an image on your site, to use on their site. In some cases, it’s outright theft, as I require all of my graphics to be credited and a link back to my sites. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. I have several little images I’ve replaced hotlinked images with. Some I’ll just remove entirely. And trust me, I’m following the lead of some folks on PWA-L…I’m replacing images with relatively nasty things. So if you use something from this site on your christian site, just to point out your beliefs…you may end up with someone’s hairy ass looking back at you – you hear me “Saintly Salmugundi”???

Come on people, I may be good, but I’m not THAT good..I’m only just teetering on the edge of “hey she’s not bad…”.

As for the images I myself hotlinked in my alt healing courses at Suite101 – well, they didn’t pull the material down – who’s to say I can’t upload images of someone’s bare ass to greet the poor souls that are deluded into thinking Suite101 is actually…nice. Or how about a disembodied eyeball? Or maybe some real nice fornication. Something with whips and chains. ;)

Recently, it was brought to my attention that some folks use bots to troll sites for email addresses, or to archive material. Well..little did I know, right? I’ve just banned a few IP addresses because not only are they doing this – they’re hogging a huge amount of bandwidth to do it. I don’t get it – I just know when I look at my stats, their hits drain the system.

Frickin’ phishers and spammers and hotlinkers ruining the net for everyone else. I’m thinking it’s probably legal for me to post the IP addresses, and I do know that most ISPs do frown down on those utilizing their services for such asshole-ish behavior. I’ll be doing that too…
