Mabon Chapbook Released!

The Creating New Pagan Family Traditions chapbook for Mabon went through the publishing process yesterday, and is now available on Smashwords, Amazon Kindle and at Etsy.

Mabon, also known as Alban Elfed, Harvest Home, and Second Harvest, is celebrated at the Autumnal Equinox which generally falls between the 21st and 23rd of September.

The autumnal equinox is the time of pagan thanksgiving, and we celebrate it in a similar manner. We give thanks for the wealth of the harvest, for the summer past, and ask boons for the winter ahead.

Zucchini Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
1 c unsalted butter, softened
1 c granulated sugar
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsps vanilla
2 c all-purpose flour
2 c whole wheat flour
2 tsps baking soda
2 tsps ground cinnamon
pinch nutmeg
1/2 tsp cocoa
1 tsp salt
2 c peeled and grated zucchini
1-1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl beat together the butter, and sugars on medium speed until pale and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the eggs one by one until completely blended, and mix in the the vanilla.

In a medium bowl, sift together the remaining dry ingredients, and add to the blended mixture and beat on low just until blended. Do not overmix. The batter will be stiff.

Add the zucchini and chocolate chips. Spoon the cookies in approximately 2 tbsp-size scoops, about 2 inches apart, onto an ungreased non-stick cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 – 12 minutes, until the cookies are light golden brown around the edges. Remove from oven, let sit on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then cool on a wire rack.

We hope the kiddies like it, and that it helps you have a blessed and thankful Mabon this weekend!

Beltaine Suggestions

Hi folks!

So, we’ve released three Sabbat handbooks officially, and Litha unofficially (although it’s official version is fast approaching!), and now we’d like to hear from the readers on what they’d like to see in future.

More activities? Less activities and more info? More crafts, less recipes or vice-versa?

Comment below; comments are held to moderate for spam and the occasional non-pagan unfriendly, so if you’d rather it not be public just mention that and I can keep it private.

Thanks!
