GOYB Week #7

Yes, I know. I’ve missed several weeks. I’m a bad witchy weight loser. I also haven’t been keeping up with 52Weeks, so it’s not just the flub I’m avoiding.
February has just not been a good month for anything, except work. Personally and through Belfire, a lot of work has been done and put out there into the world. I know I have to make changes to my life in order to start getting healthy, but I’ve also got commitments I can’t flake out on.
*sigh*
So, I’ve lost about two pounds (see-sawing) since I last updated, and about an inch and a half. I haven’t been keeping up with the host blog, either, so I’m not sure what the challenges have been.
My personal challenges have been fail since the last update; the food diary skipped out the window, I’ve had a few carbonated drinks (do I get less whuppin’ because they’re Dole Sparklers?), and practically dropped the exercise entirely. See? I said I was a bad witchy weight loser. <|x^P BUT I’ve tripled my water intake, and plan on quadrupling by the end of March. Why? Because that’ll be about what an average person drinks. I’ve managed to get up to six 8 ounce glasses a day, and I’ve cut the majority of ‘crap’ drinking (coffee, tea, high-fructose juices & soda) to a minimum.
Believe me, the caffeine headaches have been raging over here.
Goals for the remaining 4 weeks of the formal challenge:
- even more water
- eat small amounts at proper mealtimes
- exercise at least once daily
- return to daily food diary
We don’t have normal TV anymore as we purposely chose to have just Netflix, so I don’t have the weekly Biggest Loser as an inspiration boost. I’m considering tracking it down online, even if I just listen to it while I’m working, that’ll be something.
Does anyone know of any podcasts or the like, dealing with weight loss and getting fit?
Good luck this week!
(will link at the host blog once the week 8 post is up)

I know how behind I am with my challenges and keeping up with regular postings, but I will be getting back to the normality as soon as the bustle slows to a medium-crawl. <|;-)
In the meantime, I did finish Ostara, send it off to the editor and get it back... and then didn't announce it when it released. This one is back to the $0.99 size, but it doesn't include the word search. Why? Well...
I wanted to post something a little more interactive than a recipe or craft idea. I thought a printable puzzle was a great change of pace!
Hope you enjoy it… at this point, there isn’t an answer key for it, but if/when I get some extra time I’ll get one done. <|:-) As for Ostara, it's available through Kindle and Smashwords, soon across Nook, Kobo and Diesel as well.

Ugh. Just, ugh.
Up a pound. Measurement-wise I actually gained an inch around my hips this past week, but everything else stayed the same.
I’m not going to lie, it’d been a bad week. I’ve been so busy with Belfire and getting Into a Long Ago Future ready to launch that I’ve been grabbing ‘whatever’ is handy for meals. It started out great, watching everything closely, but by Friday that was all swirling down the drain.
It’s Monday. It’s a new week, gotta bring the focus back. :)
The challenge was to figure out why we’re not making our health a priority. January started out with my health on the top of the list, with Belfire running a close second. Now, because of the crunch-time with getting the back-log titles out plus keeping up with the new titles, work has inched up and overtaken health concerns. Oh, and the food diary.
Not a good thing.
Like I said though, it’s a new week, and the beginning of a new month shortly, so I’m refocusing that intent to put my health first.
1 – continue with no pop through February*
2 – with the weather maintaining at above-seasonal averages at least for this next week, I’m going to walk. Probably not far, but at least it’ll be better than from here to the living room and back again.
3 – preparing meals rather than grabbing whatever!
4 – re-start the food diary
The challenge from our hostess for week #5 actually spans right through to week #8. She’d like us to do our measurements and weight daily, and log our cycle as well.
Erm… without getting too TMI for everyone… I can’t log my cycle. My weight has actually tossed my hormonal balance off, and anything after this is actually TMI so, yeah. But I can take my measurements daily!
Have a great week everyone! <|:^) * I was intending on treating myself to one small bottle of Fanta Tangerine, because I thought I saw it in the store. Apparently, Tangerine has been discontinued though, so it’s Orange. Just plain Orange. Why do companies get you hooked on a flavor, then drop it? Tangerine was the most popular flavor around here, everyone was drinking it. BUT – while it’s not carbonated and does have aspartame – Crystal Light has a flavor, Tangerine Grapefruit, that tastes just like Fanta Tangerine without the bubbles. It comes in both single-serve (which is perfect for 600-700ml of water as 500ml is too strong) and pitcher packs.
